Avoiding chemical overload in hair products

Updated: Aug 14, 2021

It was only a few months ago when I finally took the time to read the ingredients on the back of my purple shampoo. And guess what? It was quite a shocker! Ingredients included names such as SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate), parabens, PEGs (Polyethylene Glycols) and yes, alcohol.

One can only assume some health authority tested these products and approved the use of these chemicals but how can we be sure there won't be any long-term damage? No one really knows, and that's the scary part. So why take a chance when you can swap to natural and organic? Right now I am using the My Organics I got from a local chemist and hair mask instead of conditioner as my hair tends to gets heavy and I find this mask provides a smoothing effect. I also ordered some certified organic shampoo and conditioner on iHerb from Giovanni so will be posting a review shortly.

I personally loved MyOrganics hair mask and the angel portion which I apply to damp hair to detangle and protect my hair before using the dryer or straightener.

Disclaimer: I do not get paid to endorse any of the products and brands I reference in this blog. I post about items I have personally tried in an effort to find something more natural that works.
